Municipality of Ommen selects AVEX as AV partner for council chamber renovation

The Municipality of Ommen and AVEX are starting the year with preparations for their new partnership. Following a European tender, AVEX was selected by the Municipality of Ommen at the end of last year as its audiovisual partner for the renovation of the council chamber.

Partnership begins

The partnership agreement covers the delivery of audiovisual equipment and additional services. For the council chamber project, AVEX will also coordinate the work of third parties, including the electrical contractor, construction company and interior supplier.

During the construction meeting, Senior Project Manager Bas Jongerius and Senior Manager Public Sector Erik-Jan de Dreu presented Mayor Hans Vroomen with a unique Ocean Sole elephant, handcrafted from recycled waste, as a symbol of a sustainable partnership.

Future-proof and user-friendly
The Municipality of Ommen is preparing for a future-proof council chamber, where the right AV solutions will support transparent and efficient decision-making and help bring the council closer to citizens.

The goal is to implement audiovisual solutions that are up to date, fit the way the Municipality of Ommen works and are future-proof, allowing new functionalities to be added easily.

Integration with the NotuBiz Council Information System and webcast environment is also central to the council chamber’s design. Integration with the new meeting management system will make it possible to automate agenda management and digital voting. User-friendliness is a key consideration in the design of the new AV system, for the council secretariat, administrators and end users alike.
