For Holiday on Ice’s anniversary production, AVEX developed an innovative LED solution that integrates seamlessly into the moving set. The result is a dynamic show experience where lighting, visuals and scenery come together as one.
The challenge
An impressive set that moves safely with the show
For its new production, Holiday on Ice wanted to create a set that was constantly in motion while enabling spectacular visual effects.
The challenge was to integrate hundreds of LED panels into moving arches and spheres without compromising safety, visual impact or the speed of assembly and dismantling. As the production tours internationally, the solution also needed to be easy to transport and reliably rebuilt for every performance.
The solution
Bespoke LED technology for a touring production
AVEX developed a completely bespoke solution, equipping more than 400 LED tiles with specially designed mounting hardware.
This allowed the LED panels to be safely integrated into the moving set pieces without compromising the creative design of the production. The complete installation was also designed for rapid assembly and dismantling, enabling the production to move efficiently between venues.
Combined with video programming, projection technology and show control, the result is a constantly changing set that seamlessly follows the story of the performance.
