A future-ready meeting environment for the municipal council
To better support the municipal council with hybrid meetings and decision-making, the Municipality of Almelo upgraded the audiovisual facilities in its council chamber and the Stad & Ambt meeting rooms.
AVEX designed, implemented and integrated the complete audiovisual solution. The result is a modern meeting environment focused on reliability, ease of use and future-readiness.
The challenge
A reliable audiovisual environment ready for the future
The existing audiovisual installation at Almelo City Hall no longer met the municipality’s requirements. The systems were outdated, offered insufficient support for hybrid meetings and no longer provided the level of reliability required during council meetings.
The municipality was also looking for a partner that could not only deliver the audiovisual environment, but also manage the entire project and coordinate with the other parties involved.

The solution
An integrated AV solution for modern council meetings
AVEX delivered a complete audiovisual environment for the council chamber and meeting rooms, fully tailored to the Municipality of Almelo’s day-to-day working processes.
The new discussion system is integrated with the existing council information system (RIS) and webcast environment. This allows information such as agendas, participants, votes and speakers to be exchanged automatically, while the entire system can be controlled from a single central control panel.
During development, users were actively involved through an extensive Proof of Concept. This allowed the controls and user interface to be fully tailored to the requirements of the council administration, system administrators and end users.
In addition to implementation, AVEX provided project coordination, training and integration with the building’s technical systems.
