One digital signage solution for national and local communications.
With hundreds of locations across the Netherlands, maintaining consistent communication can be a challenge. BENU wanted to move away from printed posters and manual processes towards a scalable solution that could easily combine national campaigns with local communications.
Together with AVEX, BENU implemented a digital signage platform that centrally manages 655 screens across 345 locations. National campaigns can now be rolled out quickly, while individual pharmacies can easily add their own content whenever needed.

Combining central control with local flexibility
Previously, communication within BENU pharmacies relied primarily on printed posters and individual materials. This made it difficult to respond quickly to current developments or roll out national campaigns.
BENU therefore needed a solution that:
- combines national and local communications;
- can be managed centrally;
- is easy for employees to use;
- can scale across hundreds of locations.
The solution also needed to allow individual pharmacies to share locally relevant information without losing the benefits of central management.
The solution
A scalable digital signage platform for every location
Together with BENU, AVEX implemented a digital signage solution designed around the needs of a nationwide retail organisation.
All 655 screens are connected to a single central Scala Content Management System. From its head office, BENU can distribute campaigns, promotions and up-to-date information directly to all locations.
At the same time, individual pharmacies can easily add their own content, such as information evenings or local partnerships.
In addition to the technical implementation, AVEX Creative Services supports the head office with designing, scheduling and publishing content. This keeps communications consistent while significantly reducing the operational workload for BENU.
To ensure continuity across the network, the entire system is also proactively monitored through the AVEX Pulse Monitoring Platform. Many issues can therefore be resolved remotely, helping to maximise screen availability.
