AVEX supports astronauts on Earth
When dozens of astronauts, scientists and international leaders come together to discuss the future of space exploration, every presentation, discussion and broadcast must run smoothly.
During the Association of Space Explorers (ASE) Planetary Congress 2024 at ESA-ESTEC in Noordwijk, the organisers therefore relied on AVEX’s audiovisual expertise. As a preferred partner, we provided full audiovisual support for this international event.
A stage for inspiring stories
The Planetary Congress brings together more than seventy astronauts with scientists, policymakers and other international guests. To enable them to share their knowledge, experiences and insights to the full, AVEX created a complete event environment in which visuals, sound and experience come together.
At the centre of the stage stands an impressive 8 x 4.5-metre curved LED screen, which displays presentations, videos and images from space with razor-sharp clarity. This ensures that every speaker receives the attention their story deserves and keeps the audience fully engaged.
More than just technology
A successful conference requires more than just high-quality equipment. That is why our Event Facilities team also designed the entire stage concept and the lighting.

A long-standing partnership with André Kuipers
Our involvement in the Planetary Congress is a natural extension of our long-standing partnership with astronaut André Kuipers.
AVEX has been supporting the audiovisual production for his lectures, events and theatre tours for quite some time. Together, we ensure that complex stories about space travel are presented in an accessible, inspiring and visually impressive way.
Innovation brings AVEX and ESA-ESTEC together
As well as collaborating with André Kuipers, AVEX has been working with ESA-ESTEC – the technical heart of the European Space Agency – for many years. For example, we have previously delivered various audiovisual solutions for the Concurrent Design Facility (CDF) Centre, where international experts collaborate on the development of future space missions.
